‘eFarmer’ is a web-based whole farm planning and catchment management tool.

‘eFarmer’ uses detailed satalite imagery and gives users access to a wide range of on-line tools to assist farmers identify priorities to improve the manageability and sustainability of their farm activities. It provides the means to calculate costs and monitor inputs, outputs and improvements over time.

‘eFarmer’ is ideal for a range of large agricultural industries such as Beef, Dairy, Sheep and Horticulture, as well as smaller lifestyle or ‘hobby farm’ type interests.

This course guides the landholder through the process of mapping their property using this application. There are no on-going costs associated with the application and landholders are able to access and modify their property details as required. Their farm plans are private; Only the individual farmer can view farm level information.

What eFarmer training can do for farmers and landholders

  1. Accurately calculate water use needs and storage requirements.
  2. Accurately calculate paddock sizes - area and perimeter
  3. Record paddock information / history
  4. Estimate and reduce nutrient losses
  5. Plan and record fertiliser applications and testing sites and results
  6. Map and record infrastructure – eg power and water lines, easements
  7. Identify threats and areas needing development
  8. Plan, budget and schedule actions to address threats and risks
  9. Establish and record monitoring for a range of parameters.
  10. Provide guided access to a range of current online resources.
  11. Provide visual overview for a range of farm activities
  12. Updatable by landholders with no ongoing costs.
The course is designed to be delivered in six sessions of four hours each, however it can be delivered in four sessions of six hours each if there is sufficient demand.
